One in every fifty people has a head and neck precancerous lesion but only 2% of these precancers will ever transform into life threatening cancers. In this project, we will utilize mouse models and large-scale computational analyses to understand the underlaying changes that allow malignant transformation. Our ultimate goal is to provide biomarkers for identifying high-risk precancers and for intercepting and halting their malignant transformation.

"We are truly delighted to receive this Curebound funding which will allow us to provide much needed insights into head and neck precancers and their transformation into cancer. By leveraging state-of-the-art computational and experimental techniques, we hope to deliver solutions which will reduce cancer burden and improve the lives of cancer patients.”
